Breakfast, Coffee and Where to Eat

Breakfast is included when you book direct with us.

Breakfast is served from 07:30 to 10:00. Leaving before then? Tell us the night before and we will either open early for you or make up a breakfast box to take with you.

Coffee and tea are free, all day, help yourself. It is a small thing and it is one of the things guests mention most often.

We do not have a chef, so we do not pretend to run a full menu. Our team can cook simple Indonesian dishes if you ask. For anything more, we order from warungs nearby that we know and trust, and we plate it and serve it here. It costs very little, the food is good, and you eat off a plate at a table rather than out of a plastic bag or a styrofoam box. Ordering usually works until 21:00; after that, tell us in advance so we can order ahead or reheat something for you.

You are welcome to use our kitchen. Plenty of our guests bring food with them or cook together, especially families and groups staying a few nights, and we would rather you did that comfortably than not at all. There is also a barbecue you can hire for the evening — IDR 150,000 for the grill, including charcoal, firelighters and the cleaning afterwards. Tell us in advance and we can source the meat for you.

When you want a proper meal out, Akasha Beach Club and Bara Beach Bungalows are both run by the same family as Bara Cabana. We will drive you to either one and bring you back, free of charge. If you would rather go somewhere else, ask at reception. If a car is free we will usually take you and collect you afterwards, and there is no street lighting on the road, so it is easier than walking.
